Training starts from the first interview with potential staff and continues for the duration of their time with us. Featuring refresher courses, supervision sessions, Care Team meetings, direct observations, professional discussions and shadowing visits to Clients, training is designed to keep Carers aware of best practices and all legislation changes. Our close ties with organisations such as the Alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis and Stroke associations, along with the National Spinal Injuries Centre, ensure that Hartwig Care's training courses are relevant and up to date at all times.

After completing the Induction Programme, Carers are given the opportunity to start and complete a National Vocational Qualification Level 2 in Health and Social Care. Carers, furthermore, are able to take the following optional courses:
Every Client has unique, individual requirements and our Carers are encouraged to take training courses specific to their Clients' health conditions – for example dementia, stroke and multiple sclerosis.
Hartwig Care employs a full-time, In-House Trainer/NVQ2 assessor certified in all Care-related courses set by the Skills for Care Council. Furthermore, we regularly invite guest speakers to address staff on issues relating to our Clients' health conditions.
