Becoming A Highly-Trained Carer
Employment Opportunities With Hartwig Care
Would you like to become a highly-trained, respected and vital member of the Care community? Hartwig Care can give you the keys to the door. We are always looking for Care professionals – at all stages of training – to help us with Care and support for our Clients and their families.
Hartwig Care provides domiciliary Care support services in London, which means that you would make regular appointments to go to your Client's house and provide home Care services to them there, to the extent of – depending on the Client's requirements – staying overnight at their house. We serve a range of Clients, each with their own individual situations, so you could be providing Care to vulnerable people, Clients with complex needs who wish to stay at home, Clients with physical and/or learning disabilities; or perhaps elderly Clients, even those suffering with dementia.
Requirements:
- Work permit: You must have a valid UK working visa if you are from outside the UK.
- Police Checks: To protect our Clients every new employee is vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) before joining Hartwig Care. This includes a Protection of Vulnerable Adults check (POVA). Current legislation states that CRB checks are non-transferable and a new disclosure needs to be obtained.
- English: You must have a good command of English.
- Training: All our Carers are required to attend Hartwig Care's induction course. The course teaches the principles of Care and the role of the Care worker, maintaining safety at work, how to communicate effectively, and how to recognise and respond to abuse and neglect.
Within 12 weeks of employment with Hartwig Care all employees are required to complete the Home Care Worker Induction Programme, which includes five mandatory courses:
- Common Induction Standards (including "Understanding the Principles of Care", "Understanding the Organisation and the Role of the Worker", "Maintaining Safety at Work", "Communicating Effectively", "Recognising and Responding to Abuse and Neglect" and "Developing as a Worker").
- Manual Handling for Beginners
- Care Worker handbook – Hartwig Care Policies and Procedures
- Health and Safety at work
- Food and Hygiene
