Recruitment

At Hartwig Care, we take recruitment very seriously indeed. Not only do we ensure that all our carers are properly trained, but we don’t take on people unless we are confident they have the right temperament and tact to do caring work.

We conduct face-to-face interviews with all candidates. We then carry out checks on those who meet our employment criteria: the first are with the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and we also make further checks on the Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) register. We require a minimum of two references, one of which must be from the candidate’s most recent employer.

Successful candidates must demonstrate they are reliable, discreet, friendly and committed to the physical and emotional well-being of clients. They must be professional, polite, dependable and respectful not only of the client but of his/her home.

We monitor our carers closely and appraise them regularly to ensure they are up-to-date with best practice. We also insist they undertake continuous training during their employment with us.
