We are entitled to be in control of our lives but there may be times when our ability to exercise choice or represent our own interests is limited. In these circumstances, an advocate can help ensure that a person’s views are heard, respected or acted upon.

Your local area will have organizations that offer advocacy services. The Citizens’ Advice Bureau (CAB), Age Concern, Help the Aged and other specialist disability organizations are just some that can help. Or contact Action for Advocacy for advice.
